External Manufacturing Technical Manager

Position purpose:
Manage technical interface with Contract Manufacturers (CMOs).
Scope:
Regional. This position is located in Barcelona (Spain) with possibility to work remotely from anywhere in Spain.
Key Tasks:
Lead manufacturing and packaging process validation of new products developed by the company, at Contract Manufacturers (CMOs). Review and approve validation protocols and reports.
Shared responsibility with Innovation & Development in Process Validation in New Product Developments (NPDs).
Manage technical changes at CMOs (e.g. qualifi cation of new sources of raw materials, site transfers).
Maintain a site-based portfolio of technical process improvements aimed at delivering year-on-year savings to be shared between the company and the CMO.
Follow-thru on joint process technology related CAPA commitments with CMOs.
Hold CMOs to delivery on commitments.
Evaluate new CMOs for technical capabilities.
Champion and promote sharing Technical knowledge within Global team.
Connect and partner with Global team members to drive continuous improvement of business processes within aimed at delivering on the strategic goal of optimizing the CMO Network.
Qualification & Competencies:
BS or equivalent degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or in a relevant Life Science discipline.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry (small molecule), covering the following functions: Process Technology, Technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing plant or from plant to plant, Process validation, Technical Services, Manufacturing Qualification, Product Development.
GMP knowledge.

Strong professional, interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate concepts and ideas.
Self-motivated with high degree of initiative and excellent follow-up skills.

Flexibility to adapt to a fast moving and international cross-cultural environment.
Languages:
Fluent in Business English, written and verbal, with ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
Travel:
Ability to travel up to 25 % of time, within Europe.
