As a Senior Rigger you will work closely with the Rigging Supervisor and various departments like R&D, Art, Modelling, Layout, and Animation to create, implement, maintain, and provide support for character and prop deformation rigs used in Crowds, Layout, and Animation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains procedural rig components focusing on deformation using custom tools.
  • Produces complex production-ready rig deformations based on given briefs.
  • Collaborates with Animators to enhance deformation rigs for a wide range of motion.
  • Supports rigs throughout the pipeline and offers deformation fixes when necessary.
  • Constructs body, facial, and mechanical rig systems for use by other departments such as Crowds, Animation, and Layout.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves rig issues.
  • Gathers artistic feedback and refines rig behavior.
  • Adheres to pipeline and rigging standards.
  • Stays updated on current artistic methodologies and technological trends to enhance the creative and technical environment.
  • Ensures timely delivery following Production quality standards.
  • Prototypes, develops, and implements new techniques and processes to address unique character production challenges.
  • Collaborates with the team, offering support, guidance, and instruction for their artistic and professional growth.
  • Follows the guidance of the Supervisor and Lead.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in VFX or animation industries.
  • 3+ years in the animation field.
  • Strong artistic and technical rigging skills.
  • Proficiency within a character pipeline.
  • Proficient in Maya in a production setting.
  • Experience with sculpting tools for Body, Face, and Shot-Finaling.
  • Solid grasp of animation principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of facial muscles anatomy and functions.
  • Advanced Python scripting following coding standards, including Qt Interfaces and UX.
  • Familiarity with C/C++ development is a plus.
  • High proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge of Spanish is desirable.
