Alcobendas, Madrid

Working pattern:
Monday -Friday


The position is responsible for the overall maintenance of the lab, as well as the collection and preparation of lab samples and the shipping of all specimens.


Responsibilities:

  • Complying with OHSA regulations. Ensuring that all staff comply with OSHA and support teaching of OSHA guidelines.
  • Reviewing central lab guidelines for each study with the primary coordinator (initiation of this process can be by the coordinator or lab coordinator).
  • Performing training on a regular basis for all clinical employees within the Accellacare network on all lab procedures.
  • Responsible for completing and maintaining IATA/HAZMAT training for shipping lab specimens.
  • Assisting with planning logistics with the various laboratories on upcoming studies (microbiology requirements, specialized testing, meal tolerance tests, overnight study visits, multiple blood draws etc.). Work with staff to troubleshoot and resolve any problems with processing, packaging and obtaining specimens that could result in out of range values.
  • Maintaining a daily log of specimens collected in the lab and a daily log of shipping information and filing the information accordingly.
  • Organizing lab, lab supplies and restocking supplies in all examination rooms.
  • Disinfecting exam rooms and the laboratory on a daily basis.
  • Inventory management and reordering all medical supplies as needed and as approved by a Supervisor. Keeping detailed records of the medical supply inventory.
  • Monitoring temperatures for all investigational product and lab storage areas.
  • Documenting excursions and implement any necessary actions to resolve issues.
  • Maintaining and ensuring updates of the calibration manual for all calibrated equipment.
  • Distributing supplies to staff members on a daily basis.
  • Exhibiting flexibility in assisting all research staff with clinical procedures as time permits.
  • Completes training on Clinical Trial Management System and maintains proper skills to update database, complete participant reimbursement, capture referral source of participants, and create calls lists to promote recruitment when needed.
  • Supports the site by training Accellacare Network staff on completing study closeout procedures on a regular basis.
  • Administers TB testing to all employees at monthly orientation and throughout the Network, as needed.
  • Supports high volume trials on an as needed basis throughout the network.
  • Travel: Travel to other sites within the network may be required to support increases in workload and, or studies/projects as needed.
