Data Protection Manager – Compliance (Openbank)
We are the % digital bank of the Santander Group and we are currently undergoing a technological transformation and international expansion process. In , we kicked off our relaunch plans and have been continuously expanding and growing ever since, especially when it comes to technology. We work in a start-up format, using agile methodologies to take our customers' experience to the next level. In , we launched in the Netherlands, Germany and Portugal, recently followed by Argentina, with other countries currently in the pipeline.

Mission and responsibilities:
As a Data Protection Manager you will provide data protection support to different products and services of the entity, which is in full international expansion, reporting to the Data Protection Officer.
For them, it is necessary to have knowledge of data protection in (i) financial services and financing products: buy now pay later, credit cards, loans, etc. and (ii) in the implementation of the regulations in different geographies of the European Union.
The successful candidate should hold experience in a similar data protection role and have a proven track record of delivering results in a challenging environment. The individual will be capable of delivering results, with and through colleagues and peers, both cross functionally and cross jurisdictionally. The role will require working cross functionally and cross jurisdictionally daily, so cross jurisdiction privacy knowledge is preferred.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
Provide practical guidance and advice internally on Data Protection matters while working as part of al data privacy team under the guidance of Openbank´s Data Protection Officer. Participate in all processes that deal with the processing of personal data and providing relevant consultations. Advise and support business functions on data protection issues arising day-to-day. Ensure compliance to international, national, state, and local privacy laws and regulations. Create and implement strategies to ensure compliance with data protections laws. Perform DPIAs, PIAs and LI assessments and build/maintain the client’s RoPA. Analyze risk associated with data processing operations and monitoring compliance with GDPR and other personal data legal requirements. Maintain processes for receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating, and acting on all requests/complaints concerning the organization’s privacy policies and procedures.To be successful in the role you must have
+ years of relevant legal/ compliance experience, including at a law firm or prior in-house experience. University or Masters Degree in law. Completing a master's degree in technology and / or data protection will be a plus. Taking courses or interests in data protection / T&O. Advanced English (C). It is desirable to have knowledge of other languages such as: German / Dutch / Portuguese. Certification as DPO / IAPP or similar. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical, reading/comprehension, writing skills and strong attention to detail.What do we offer?
