What we are looking for

"The Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences is currently initiating a recruitment process to appoint a lecturer for the Master’s Degree in Cooperation, Development, and Social Economy. We are specifically seeking an individual to teach the course 'International Cooperation and NGOs', scheduled to start in the last quarter of 2024. This course comprises 60 teaching hours and is designed to acquaint students with the realm of NGOs and International Cooperation. It aims to cover the historical development of the sector, the structure and operations of non-governmental organizations, the various models of international cooperation, as well as the specific legal frameworks relevant to the field. Additionally, the course will provide insight into the procedures for obtaining public support and funding."

We offer

A part-time Associate Lecturer position to teach a 6 ECTS credit course (60 teaching hours) at the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences at UIC. This position is fully compatible with other professional and teaching activities. The classes are scheduled to take place from October to December, during evening hours. Classes will commence in October 2024, aligning with the launch of the first edition of the master's program. A competitive salary in accordance with UIC’s master's degree salary scale. Requirements

We are seeking a lecturer who may come from one of two distinct profiles, both of which are of interest to us and eligible for the selection process:

Profile 1: Experienced NGO and Cooperation Professional

An individual with a lengthy track record in non-governmental organizations and international cooperation, or in the public management of international cooperation. Must have a comprehensive understanding of the entire sector, its variations, and operations. Must also possess effective teaching communication skills.

Profile 2: Academic and Researcher in NGOs and International Cooperation

A university professor who has dedicated their research and teaching to the field of Cooperation, Development, and NGOs. Must be able to provide a global overview of this field, including its variations and operations.

Assessment criteria

The following aspects of the applicant’s CV will be taken into consideration:

Proven record of effective teaching. Oral and written proficiency in English and Spanish. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to supervise and guide undergraduate and graduate students in their research projects. Knowledge and respect for the values rooted in the Christian identity of the university
