A Snapshot of your day:
You will perform a strategic role in building capability in the data governance and excellence pillar of “Ability for data to be secure and private” through developing and implementing a strategy to operationalize the data security and privacy of Siemens Energy data assets in alignment to Cybersecurity and Legal & Compliance policies. You will know both the importance and fundamentals of Data Security, Privacy and Compliance, and how they contribute to solving business problems. You will work closely with Siemens Energy Cybersecurity teams to create a target operating model for the business and IT teams to effectively strike the balance between data democratization and protecting confidential and sensitive data assets from misuse.
How You’ll Make an Impact
•Work with the business and other Cyber, tech or data protection specialists to identify specific data security, privacy or compliance problems or opportunities.
•Drive/support the ideation and approval of initiatives that will deliver quantified business value through solving issues or opportunities.
•Contribute to the development of and implement the data security, privacy and compliance strategy.
•Responsible for Data Security Classification processes for the organization.
•Help the equip the business and IT to be able to fulfil their role in data asset management as defined in cybersecurity, data protection or compliance policy and processes.
•Document and present methodologies, procedures, and project results to senior stakeholders across different functions.
•Regularly communicate progress and escalate obstacles and constraints to management team when needed.
•Support other Data & AI teams to be compliant to data security and protection requirements in their AI and analytics solutions, data platform infrastructure etc
•Understand global and local Regulations concerning data security and privacy.
•A key contributor to SE’s response to Regulatory change in data and AI.
•Ensure DPIAs are in in place for new use cases for personal data processing by Data & AI or Data & AI sponsored projects.
What You Bring / Skills, Capabilities
•Higher education qualifications in a relevant discipline
•Cybersecurity, privacy or compliance qualifications/accreditation
•Min. 5 years’ experience in a Data Security, Privacy and Compliance role, preferably with all three subject matter areas.
•Experience working a highly complex global business environment that is governed by (potentially) dozens of global and local Regulations.
•Proven track record in operationalizing the principles of Security and Privacy by Design, and improving the internal compliance ratings of organizations.
•Strong understanding of GDPR and related European data protection regulations and practices (eg DSGVO).
•In depth knowledge of technical tools that can support data security, protection or compliance – including their interoperability across the enterprise architecture.
•Familiar with the data technology landscape, including knowledge of software capabilities (or limitations) in federated access management.
•Knowledge of operationalizing the federated computational governance pillar of Data Mesh a bonus
•Ability to work well in diverse teams and actively contribute to an inclusive team culture.
•Flexibility and growth mindset, to change and grow as the team matures.
•You are fluent in both spoken and written English, knowledge of German or any other language (eg Spanish) is a plus
