Job description : European Trade Compliance Import Specialist

The Trade position is vital to ensure that the requirements and business processes associated with the cross-border movements, run efficiently whilst ensuring that any risks are identified and handled optimally.
What will you do?
Ensure that all import and export activities align with the applicable laws and regulations, minimizing the risk of fines and penalties. Classification of products, commodity codes and Dual Use Regulations Facilitating import transactions – this includes importing goods from outside the EU/UK & providing classifications and instructions to freight forwarders. Consulting with internal departments and functions to make sure procedures are followed Liaising with and consulting with customers (internal and external to the company) Support the company's compliance program by participating in internal and external auditsHow will you get here?
Previous experience working with imports and exports in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of commodity code classifications. Strong customer management skills (internal and external).Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong communication skills – verbal, written, presentation. Facility to work on your own initiative. Comfortable working on multicultural team Ability to work with and influence a wide range of levels in organisation, establishing positive working relationships.
