Amazon Business represents an incredible opportunity to address a vast new market segment and customer base and is an area of high interest for Amazon. We are focused on building integration focused solutions that enable our business customers and alliances to get their systems integrated with Amazon. The needs of these customers are different from those of the traditional Amazon customer, so we are reinventing everything from how we display our selection, price our products, provide the right customer experience and connectivity to Amazon.
We’re off to a big start. After launching in 2015 in the United States, Amazon Business is now live in nine countries, including Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, India, and Canada. We are continuing to expand and we are looking for strong leaders to help us get there.
Our Amazon Business (AB) team is rapidly growing and we’re looking for an experienced Software Development Manager (SDM) to lead a team of talented software development engineers in charge of growth in EU, JP, IN, and CA. This is a great opportunity to deal with a very ambiguous space and resolve high-impact problems.
Great candidates for this position possess a sound understanding of computer science and a passion to make a profound impact for our international business customers. You will have the opportunity to apply this passion by leveraging your technical and team management skills. You will lead your team to develop for solutions involving distributed systems, web development, front-end/back-end design, and more. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with diverse business and technical partners to shape our technology. You will be the voice of our international customers, driving technological innovation to create an unparalleled business procurement experience.

Madrid, M, ESP
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations- Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services
- Experience managing engineers
- Experience partnering with product and program management teams
- Experience in engineering
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
