In alignment with Oregon's updated 2025 CNA certification standards, the CNA performs a comprehensive range of clinical, clerical, and support functions that promote patient health, safety, and dignity. All CNA tasks are carried out under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who provides guidance and oversight to ensure safe and appropriate care delivery. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, collecting objective data, supporting therapeutic interventions, maintaining accurate documentation, coordinating unit activities, and ensuring a safe, clean, and organized environment. SKILLS AND ABILITIESAbility to organize and prioritize work effectivelyAble to work collaboratively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teamsStrong understanding of cultural sensitivity and developmental stages of careProficiency in basic computer use and electronic documentationFamiliarity with medical terminology preferredAbility to follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detailDemonstrates reliability, professionalism, and punctualityEDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREESHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredCurrent, valid Oregon CNA certification (per the 2025 unified certification requirements)American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredEXPERIENCEPrevious CNA experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferredStrong customer service, interpersonal, observational, and communication skills requiredGENERAL INFORMATIONUnion Affiliation: UFCWThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
