Job Title: Technical Service Specialist - Europe Location: Europe (with extensive travel across European region, approx. 50%) The Opportunity: We are seeking a motivated Technical Service Specialist to support customers across Europe with hands-on technical expertise in polymer materials. This role bridges our material solutions with customer applications, working closely with sales, customers, and internal R&D to drive technical support, application development, and business growth. Key Responsibilities: Work closely with the European sales team to visit customers, understand application needs, and provide technical support. Serve as the main technical contact for assigned customers, resolving technical issues and delivering training and presentations. Support business development by identifying new applications and contributing technical input to new product launches. Participate in application development with customers and internal R&D teams, including material customization. Manage material certifications in line with customer and regulatory requirements (e.g. REACH, RoHS, food contact, automotive). Provide on-site technical support, including trial molding, process optimization, troubleshooting, and material selection. Handle customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions with internal teams. Provide market and customer feedback to sales, R&D, and product management; maintain technical and support records. Qualifications & Requirements: Master's degree or higher in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field. Ph.D. is a plus. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in research & development (R&D), technical service, or application engineering within the polymer materials industry (e.g., plastics, elastomers, composites). Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of polymer chemistry, material structure-property relationships, and various polymer processing technologies (e.g., injection molding, extrusion, etc). Familiarity with material testing methods and characterization techniques. Understanding of relevant industry regulations and certification processes (e.g., REACH, RoHS, FDA, ISO standards) is advantageous. Core Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers at all levels, including engineers, technicians, and purchasing managers. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges. Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service and building strong customer relationships. Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team (sales, R&D, quality). Results-oriented with a "can-do" attitude and strong project management skills. Language & Other Requirements: Fluency in English is essential (written and spoken). Proficiency in additional European languages (e.g., German, French, Italian, Spanish) is a significant advantage. Must be willing and able to travel extensively throughout the European region, approximately 50% of the time.
