Senior Underwriter

Responsabilidades
Within the limits of his/her uw authority letter, to underwrite new business and/or renew portfolio. Those responsibilities could eventually be multiline.

Key Responsibilities
New Business

• To manage New Business submissions within the scope (territorial/broker/type of risk/product, etc.) designated by the Head of Line of Business and according his/her respective Letter of Authority.
• To populate Quotes on the IT System (BEITS) data collection, rating, pricing, uw analysis, wordings, etc.
• To issue quotes and follow-up them.
• To give authority in BEITS to lower empowered uw's (when applicable) and/or BENET users, when required.
• To issue policies and new policies and policy amends that cannot be outsourced to Portfolio Management (BeService).

Portfolio renewals / management

• To monitor the list of non-tacit renewals of issue policies and new policies and policy amends that cannot be outsourced to Portfolio Management (BeService) and issue a renewal proposal to the broker.
• To support the correspondent Head of Lob in portfolio performance monitoring, if required.

Sales

• To support our Business Developers and/or Head of Market Facing Teams in any sales related initiative they may request too brokers (meetings, presentations, trainings, etc.)
• Develop and grow a knowledgeable producer population, incl. strategic and tactical broker/producer development planning.
• Build strong relationships with brokers (local/region) to ensure the practice meets or exceeds financial goals including growth, profit, retention, and new business.

General

• To read, understand and sign his/her personal authority letter and any other technical guideline provided, and act within the limits of its scope.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

• Work collaboratively and effectively with local underwriting, operations, legal and claims.

Innovation

• Engage in innovation initiatives, product launches, marketing campaigns and short-term projects as appropriate to contribute positively towards success of the overall team and company.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Stay current with all compliance, procedural, and workflow changes; ensure all activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Reporting

• Reports to Head of Line of Business (technically) and Head of Custom (hierarchically).

Shared Responsibilities

• Together with the rest of Head of LoB, to comply with the UW Governance and the Sales Strategy, to attend the Business Team Committee Meetings and to collaborate and coordinate with other LoB's.

Nature of Hierarchical and Direct Collectives

• Management Level: Individual contributor.

Economic management

• Need to achieve the financial plan of his/her LoBs (GWP, Commissions, ILR, etc.) and the whole Custom Plan.

Titulaciones
Knowledge & Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the insurance market in similar positions
• Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritize
• Computer literate with good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
• Desire to work towards relevant professional qualification
