Project description

We're looking for a hands-on DevOps specialist to join our international Application Operations team and take ownership of critical telecom applications running in hybrid cloud environments. You'll work on real production systems that directly impact mobile network operations, collaborating with cross-border teams and supporting applications deployed on AWS, T-CaaS, and VMware. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex environments, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to make a visible impact on large-scale systems.

Tasks description

• Take full operational ownership of mission-critical applications hosted on AWS, T-CaaS, or VMware, ensuring their stability and performance in production environments.

• Act as the main technical point of contact for the integration and support of these applications, including release coordination, incident resolution, and ongoing technical improvements, in collaboration with both internal and external teams.

• Monitor and maintain application operations, including alert handling, dashboard configuration, data flow supervision, and technical troubleshooting.

• Participate in application lifecycle management (LCM), including the rollout of new features, release validation, change coordination, and continuous optimization.

• Collaborate with engineering and cloud platform teams to ensure proper integration and smooth operation of applications within Deutsche Telekom's hybrid cloud ecosystem.

• Maintain and, when needed, adapt existing CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows to support reliable and predictable deployments and updates.

• Work within ITIL-based processes, providing second-line support for incidents, problems, and changes.

• Document operational procedures and troubleshooting steps, and maintain an up-to-date internal knowledge base for supported systems.

Technical Skills:

• Solid Linux knowledge, including scripting and troubleshooting in production environments.

• Proven experience in operating and supporting applications running on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, T-CaaS) or virtualized environments (e.g., VMware).

• Operational experience with Kubernetes, especially for application deployment, troubleshooting in namespaces, and basic configuration tasks.

• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitLab CI and/or FluxCD, with ability to maintain and adjust existing automation flows.

• Experience integrating applications into monitoring and alerting systems, including handling alarms and northbound/southbound interfaces.

• Understanding of ITIL-based processes for incident, problem, and change management in application operations.

• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken, to effectively collaborate in an international team and interact with suppliers.
