As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Head of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) to be based in our Seville office.

Role purpose

The Head of HSE will provide senior leadership and coordination of Health, Safety and Environmental activities across the Quintas Energy Group and client portfolios, operating in multiple jurisdictions.

The role is critical to:

  • Ensuring robust HSE governance and compliance across internal operations and client assets.
  • Strengthening environmental management and ESG support, particularly through high-quality ESG and HSE reporting for clients, investors and other stakeholders.
  • Acting as a trusted senior advisor to internal teams, clients and external partners.

The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with Heads of Department, Asset Management teams and client-facing roles.

Key responsibilities

Health & Safety leadership and governance

  • Provide senior leadership in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Health and Safety management systems, policies and procedures across the Group.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across Quintas Energy and within client asset operations.
    • Coordinate H&S activities across all markets where Quintas operates, ensuring consistency and alignment with best practice.

Regulatory compliance and assurance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, standards and codes of practice in all operating jurisdictions.
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, external auditors and advisors on HSE-related matters.
  • Oversee HSE compliance reviews for both corporate activities and client assets.

Risk management

  • Lead and coordinate HSE risk assessments, hazard identification and control measures for Quintas activities and managed assets.
  • Support Asset Management teams in integrating HSE risk considerations into operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure appropriate mitigation strategies and follow-up actions are defined, implemented and monitored.

Incident management and investigations

  • Define and maintain the Group process for incident, accident and near-miss reporting and investigation.
  • Lead or oversee investigations of significant HSE incidents, ensuring robust root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Track trends, lessons learned and improvements across the portfolio.

Training and capability development

  • Design and deliver HSE training and awareness programmes for employees, contractors and, where required, clients.
  • Ensure competence requirements are defined and met for roles with HSE-critical responsibilities.
  • Support the development of a proactive and prevention-oriented HSE culture.

Environmental management

  • Lead environmental management activities, including identification of environmental aspects and impacts, monitoring of environmental performance and implementation of improvement initiatives.
  • Support the management of energy consumption, emissions, waste and environmental KPIs, in coordination with internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment with ISO 14001 principles and client environmental requirements.

ESG support and reporting (client-focused)

  • Provide technical HSE and Environmental input to ESG frameworks for Quintas clients, particularly investors and asset owners.
  • Lead or coordinate the preparation, review and validation of ESG, HSE and sustainability reports for clients, including:
  • HSE performance indicators.
  • Environmental metrics (energy, emissions, incidents, compliance).
  • Qualitative ESG narratives related to Health, Safety and Environment.- Support Asset Management and Advisory teams in responding to client, lender and investor ESG requests, audits and due diligence processes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of ESG data quality, consistency and transparency.

Data analysis and reporting

  • Analyse HSE and environmental data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop dashboards, KPIs and regular reports for internal management and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency and traceability of reported data.

Client assurance and advisory

  • Act as a senior HSE and Environmental advisor to Quintas clients, providing guidance, recommendations and assurance on HSE and ESG-related matters.
  • Support client engagements involving audits, inspections, operational reviews and regulatory interactions.

Budget and resource management

  • Manage the HSE budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to support compliance, risk reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate and manage external HSE consultants and service providers as required.

Requisitos

Qualifications

Core qualifications

  • Recognised Health & Safety qualification related to occupational risk management, such as:

  • Técnico Superior en Prevención de Riesgos Laborales (Spain), or equivalent European qualification.

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (UK) or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of EU and/or UK HSE regulatory frameworks, including construction and operational environments.

Desirable / Equivalent international qualifications

  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (UK).
  • IOSH Managing Safely or IOSH Leading Safely (UK).
  • CMIOSH / GradIOSH membership status, or eligibility to obtain it.
  • ISO 45001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification.
  • ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems training (Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor).
  • Formal training in risk assessment methodologies, incident investigation and root cause analysis (e.g. ICAM, TapRooT, equivalent).

Environmental and ESG-related qualifications (advantage)

  • Training or certification in Environmental Management, sustainability or ESG-related disciplines.
  • Knowledge of GHG Protocol, carbon footprint calculation or environmental performance indicators.
  • Experience or formal exposure to ESG frameworks such as:

  • GRI (Global Reporting Initiative),

  • SASB,
  • TCFD,
  • EU Taxonomy,
  • SFDR (awareness level acceptable).

  • Experience supporting investor, lender or client ESG reporting in infrastructure or renewable energy contexts.

Professional development

  • Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD) aligned with recognised professional bodies (e.g. IOSH or equivalent European associations).

Experience

  • Minimum 4–6 years' experience in a senior or lead HSE role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing:

  • HSE risks and compliance.

  • Incident investigations.
  • Policies, procedures and management systems.

  • Experience in the energy or renewable energy sector is highly desirable.

  • Exposure to environmental management and ESG reporting is a strong advantage.

Skills and competencies

  • Proven ability to lead, influence and coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical, reporting and documentation skills.
  • Confident communicator with strong presentation and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a multi-country, fast-growing organisation.

Languages

  • English: high level (mandatory).
  • Knowledge of Italian is a plus.
