SHEQ Compliance Investigator

We are seeking a
Senior Associate – SHEQ Compliance Investigator
to join our expanding SHEQ Department. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring Quintas' and its clients' full compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards across multiple jurisdictions. You will lead and support incident investigations, conduct legal compliance audits, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our Integrated Management System (IMS).

This position offers the opportunity to work within an international, fast-growing renewable energy environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients across Spain, Italy, and the UK.

Responsibilities
Incident Investigation & Resolution

  • Lead or support the investigation of SHEQ incidents, accidents, near misses and observations raised internally or by clients.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of incident investigation, including evidence collection, root cause analysis (RCA), interviews, and documentation.
  • Liaise with affected parties, service providers and asset managers to ensure comprehensive understanding and resolution of incidents.
  • Draft detailed investigation reports including clear recommendations and timelines for corrective and preventive actions.
  • Track and monitor the implementation and effectiveness of post-incident actions.
  • Collaborate with the SHEQ Administrator to ensure timely communication, documentation and escalation of incidents within the IMS framework.

Legal Compliance Auditing

  • Carry out HSE legal compliance audits at photovoltaic plants (remotely and on-site), ensuring alignment with applicable local, regional and national legislation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SHEQ-related laws and ensure clients are informed of critical obligations and potential breaches.
  • Analyse findings, evaluate legal risk, and prepare structured compliance reports with practical recommendations.
  • Provide regulatory assurance to internal and external stakeholders, supporting Quintas' and clients' obligations for legal conformity under ISO 45001 and 14001.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with the Health and Safety Administrator and wider SHEQ team to share findings, trends, and regulatory updates.
  • Support SHEQ initiatives aimed at improving reporting culture, preventive behaviours, and legal awareness across the organisation and its clients.
  • Assist in delivering training, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns related to legal obligations and incident learning.
  • Identify opportunities for procedural or system improvements and contribute to the enhancement of the IMS.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Ensure all investigations, audits, and related records are documented, managed, and archived according to the IMS procedures and ISO requirements.
  • Use Quintas' tools (e.g. SharePoint, Power BI, Battuta) to manage data and report performance indicators.
  • Support the development and maintenance of SHEQ procedures, checklists, and audit protocols.

Other Tasks

  • Provide support to the SHEQ department in preparing client-facing reports, monthly summaries, and KPI reviews.
  • Support regulatory visits or inspections as required.
  • Be available to assist other departments (e.g. Asset Management, Advisory, Legal) with incident data or legal interpretations when needed.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in occupational health & safety, environmental compliance, or HSE legal auditing.
  • Demonstrable experience investigating SHEQ incidents and performing HSE legal compliance audits in the renewable energy sector, particularly in photovoltaic assets.
  • University Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or Law. A Master's degree or further specialisation in HSE law or environmental auditing will be considered an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable HSE legislation in Spain, the UK and Italy.
  • Familiarity with international standards ISO is desirable (ISO 9001, 14001,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (minimum B2). Spanish is required; Italian will be valued.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and reporting skills with attention to detail.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively across multiple teams and jurisdictions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 tools (particularly Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Power BI).
  • A proactive and solution-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and legal compliance.
