Senior Commercial Manager – Data Center Construction

Our client is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager with strong experience in data center construction to lead the commercial, contractual, and cost management aspects of major projects in Barcelona. The role is responsible for overseeing commercial strategy, contract administration, cost control, and risk management across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all commercial and contractual matters for data center construction projects
- Manage project budgets, cost control, forecasting, and cash flow
- Oversee contract administration, claims, variations, and change management
- Support procurement strategy, tendering, and contract negotiations
- Monitor commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Prepare and present commercial reports to senior stakeholders and clients
- Ensure compliance with contractual, financial, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, Commercial Management, or a related discipline
- Master's degree or professional certifications (MRICS, PMP, or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum 12–15 year
s of overall commercial or cost management experience - At least 5–7 years of direct experience in data center construction projects
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and procurement
- Proven experience managing large-scale, complex construction projects
- Eligible to work in Spain / EU
(no visa sponsorship provided) - Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Compensation
- Salary will be commensurate with experience
