ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT – CONSULTING PRACTICE – PAE Team

JOB DESCRIPTION

Date: 27/12/2025

Reports to: Senior Consultant

ABOUT ALIRA HEALTH

At Alira Health, our mission is to enable healthcare transformation. Our team collaborates fully to understand every aspect of each client's organization from concept ideation to commercial realization, from innovation to implementation. We support our clients with a full spectrum of patient-centric data and tech-enabled services including Transaction Advisory, Management Consulting, Real-World Evidence, Advanced Analytics, Patient Engagement, Product Development, Regulatory, Clinical and Market Access.

Our clients are global, and so are we. Our local presence and global collaboration allow us to deliver actionable business insights and an unmatched continuum of support across the full corporate and product lifecycle. Our major hubs are located in Barcelona, Basel, Bologna, London, Munich, Milan, Paris, and Verona across Europe, Toronto in Canada, and the Boston Area in the US.

ABOUT THE CONSULTING PRACTICE

Alira Health's Consulting Practice supports clients across the full healthcare value chain — from market access and pricing to evidence generation and commercial strategy.

Within PAE (Pricing, Access, and Evidence), our teams specialize in Market Access and Pricing (MAP), Real-World Evidence (RWE), and Patient Engagement (PEN). We help clients generate insights, build strategies, and deliver solutions that connect clinical, economic, and patient perspectives.

As part of this multidisciplinary environment, Associate Consultants play a key role in executing and leading project workstreams, guiding Analysts/Interns, and developing client-ready deliverables across various therapy areas and geographies.

THE ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT ROLE

The Associate Consultant (AC) contributes to the design, execution, and delivery of consulting and research projects for healthcare and life sciences clients

ACs demonstrate growing independence in managing specific analyses or workstreams, preparing client deliverables, and supporting client discussions. They also mentor junior colleagues and contribute to proposal development and internal initiatives.

High-performing ACs may be considered for advancement to Consultant roles within the PAE team.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES

Project Execution (80-90%)

Independently perform quantitative and qualitative analyses under the guidance of senior team members, contributing to the identification of key insights and strategic recommendations.

Take ownership of defined workstreams and small sections of deliverables (e.g., slide decks, reports, models or client presentations), ensuring timely, high-quality output with clear structure and analytical rigor, under the direction and oversight of Consultants or Project Managers.

Conduct and synthesize secondary research (literature review, desk research, database review) to support project hypotheses and recommendations.

Support primary research activities (e.g., payer & clinician stakeholder interviews) through note-taking, synthesis, analysis, and contributing questions when appropriate.

Work closely with other Associate Consultants, Consultants, Project Managers, and SMEs to ensure alignment with project objectives and consistency in analytical approaches.

Guide and support Analysts/Interns in data analysis, interpretation, and deliverable preparation, providing feedback and quality oversight.

Business Development, Knowledge, and Internal Initiatives (10-20%)

Support business development efforts by contributing to proposal development, including background research, drafting slides, and preparing relevant project materials.

Contribute to internal initiatives such as recruiting, onboarding, training, knowledge management, or process improvement activities.

Engage in continuous learning and contribute to the team's intellectual capital through thought leadership, case studies, or internal best-practice development.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

Master's degree or PhD in life sciences, economics, public health, business, or a related field; candidates with a Bachelor's degree and relevant professional experience will also be considered.

1–3 years of professional experience in consulting, life sciences, healthcare industry, or analytics.

Proven ability to structure, analyze, and interpret data to inform strategic decisions.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.

Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.

Must be based in Barcelona or willing and able to relocate; this position requires in-office collaboration and occasional travel.

TECHINICAL COMPETENCES & SOFT SKILLS

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with data visualization or analytical tools is a plus.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational abilities.

Adaptability and curiosity to learn about evolving healthcare trends, payer systems, and evidence requirements.

High attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outputs.
