Responsibilities

This role will coordinate with external accountants, operations team, and asset management requirements to perform the day-to-day back-office finance function and be responsible for the financial reporting of PBSA assets in Barcelona. The successful candidate will:

  • Work based in Barcelona and report to the Iberia finance team
  • Work with external accountants ensuring that the finance system links to the property booking systems
  • Oversee business process providers and be the link with the onsite operations team
  • Collaborate with the financial reporting process of the asset and
  • Review and provide commentary on monthly performance liaising with applicable managers to ensure that all variances are investigated and explained.
  • Liaise with the Operations team in providing incisive information on business performance, identifying key issues and trends to enable business decisions to be made.
  • Gather the required information and collaborate to ensure that all the tax reporting (VAT and Corporation tax) and company reporting requirements are met
  • Assist with the annual audit
  • Responsible for the accounts payable and accounts receivable process
  • Keep relationships with all main counterparties including administrators and tax advisors, payroll consultants, management companies in charge of the investment funds owning the building

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be:

  • An experienced administrative/accountant with 3-4 years of experience (previous experience in PBSA/Hotels will be valued)
  • Experienced in working in an international environment
  • Technically strong with an attitude for business process improvement
  • Experienced in accounts payable and accounts receivable process
  • Customer orientated with proven ability to develop close working relationships
  • Enthusiastic and motivated team player with the ability to plan and execute tasks
  • Flexible and able to work to tight deadlines
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Excel
  • Able to speak and write in English and Spanish
