This position is ideal for senior-level Dental Professionals to join the Exocad Data Labeling team as a Manager, leading critical dental data annotation initiatives. Managing a team of dental technicians, dentists, data engineers, and collaborating with Machine Learning and Product teams, you'll provide key performance insights and process improvements to drive high-quality data collection and efficient pipeline management. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of labeled data, directly supporting Align Technology's innovation and operational excellence.
Role expectationsLead a team of dental technicians, dentists and data engineers working in an industry context on dental data labeling
- Coordinate data annotation campaigns, monitor the team's performance and ensure successful completion on time
- Prepare and deliver reports to senior management, including key metrics, statistics, and performance analysis
- Serve as primary point of contact for labeling projects, prioritize these and communicate decisions
- Setup and continuously improve labeling pipelines to ensure high quality data while increasing efficiency
- Make tooling decisions for the labeling team, with collaborating software and data engineers
- Collaborate with external vendors to evaluate, procure, and integrate tooling or services that support labeling operations
- Understand the needs of the Machine Learning and Product teams for which the data is collected and align with their requirements
- Organize team roles and evaluate employee performance
- Build and maintain a clear overview of the various data sources at Align Technology / Exocad and ensure delivery of required data from other teams to the labeling team
- Keep track of and ensure compliance with data privacy requirements of the different data sources
- Build a clear understanding of the products, for which the labelled data will be used to ensure what and how the data is labelled is aligned with product requirements
- Finished University dental studies or similar education
- 4+ years of professional working experience in the dental industry
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team, ideally within a labeling context
- Hands-on experience with 3D software; Exocad is a strong plus
- Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies
- High attention to detail to ensure large databases stay consistent, accurate and well-maintained
- Excellent proficiency in both Spanish and English (written and spoken)
- Some experience in software development of a multi-contributor project, preferably Python
- Basic understanding of Databases, AWS & Machine Learning is a strong plus
- Passion for technology
