What You'll Do

As a Strategic Development - Director – Global Practice Areas, you will play a critical role in shaping and delivering strategic priorities across BCG's Global Industry and Functional Practice Areas (PAs). Reporting to the Strategic Development Senior Director – Global Practice Areas, you will lead key initiatives focused on enhancing PA performance, simplify BCG's offer and Go-To-Market (GTM) cost capabilities, and ensure alignment of PA investment strategies with firmwide objectives.

In addition to driving critical projects, you will take on people management responsibilities, overseeing a high-performing team of strategic project managers. You will mentor and guide your team to deliver impactful results while fostering professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Designing and leading cross-PA initiatives, with a particular focus on enhancing PA performance through offer integration, simplification, and GTM cost capability development.
  • Managing end-to-end projects, from planning through execution, including senior stakeholder alignment and communication.
  • Providing thought partnership to senior leaders, facilitating alignment on BCG's "Change-the-Business" agenda, and driving decision-making processes.
  • Collaborating with global teams, including regional offices, and practice leadership, on the execution of key project deliverables.
  • Working with global leadership to translate high-level strategic ideas into actionable plans.
  • Conducting regular competitive intelligence and strategic analysis, with the support of PA and Finance teams, to track progress and support business development activities.

You're Good At

  • Project management: Leading complex strategic initiatives, involving multiple parallel workstreams with independent judgement and prioritization.
  • Strategic problem-solving: Addressing complex, ambiguous business challenges with a structured, data-driven approach.
  • Executive communication: Delivering clear, action-oriented recommendations and effectively engaging with senior stakeholders (e.g., PALs, GPMDs, MDPs).
  • Collaborating across a matrix environment: Cultivating strong relationships with global teams and driving alignment across diverse teams
  • Managing competing priorities: Delivering high-quality outcomes under tight timelines while juggling multiple workstreams

What You'll Bring

  • 10-12 years of relevant experience in strategy, or management consulting, with expertise in project management, people management, and cost optimization programs.
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring teams of strategic project managers
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, or -business-related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Ability to team effectively with others across seniority levels, functions and cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong business sense and interest in business development, with an ability to envision a path and to drive it forward.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence senior executives.

Who You'll Work With

You will report to the
Strategic Development Senior Director – Global Practice Areas
and work closely with BCG's Global PA Executive Leadership Team. You will also collaborate with Functional and Industry leadership teams, finance, and regional teams to drive initiatives and align on firmwide priorities. Additionally, you will lead and manage a team of strategic project managers, supporting their development and success.
