Job Overview
The Monterrey Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the quality of products throughout the production process, ensuring they consistently meet established standards by developing and implementing quality control procedures, inspecting products at various stages, identifying and addressing quality issues, and collaborating with other departments to drive continuous improvement initiatives, all while adhering to industry and regulatory compliance standards. This person essentially serves as the guardian of quality throughout the production cycle
A Day In The LifeManage a site-wide, multi-product quality program, through both direct and indirect reporting relationships
· Maintain the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System
· Ensure strict adherence to the quality management system
· Provide ongoing analytical and problem-solving support to plant management and customers on critical quality problems as needed
· Educate quality personnel and business leaders on quality principles
· Ensure proper quality control execution on product moves and new product implementation
· Facilitate annual surveillance audits, as well as customer quality audits
· Maintain and ensure organizational processes and procedures are accurate
· Instill a mentality of driving to root cause and implementing corrective and preventative actions on issues
· Coordinate Quality Control inspections
· Manage and respond to customer complaints
· Meet with Customers, vendors, quality representatives, and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required
· Develop quality procedures, standards, and programs designed to drive continuous improvement of the quality of products and services to promote customer satisfaction
· Prepare all necessary reports as required by customers and staff personnel
· Bring new measurement technology into the department
· Drive scrap reduction through quality analysis and improvements
· Develop a cross-training program for the Quality Dept to always ensure coverage
What will help you thrive in this role?A seasoned professional with over 5 years of Quality Management experience in an ISO 9001 certified manufacturing environment
· Equipped with a bachelor's degree in engineering, natural sciences, business management, industrial science, or statistics
· Demonstrated ability to audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong presentation skills in both Spanish and English
· Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering sketches, and technical documents to resolve appropriate measurement methods
· Proficiency in Problem Solving, Standardization, and concepts of Built-In-Quality
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and under pressure
· Attentive to details and accuracy
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word. PowerPoint, and Excel
· Strong team motivational and influence skills
· High-level conflict resolution ability
· Solid working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements & leadership
· SAP experience required
· DMAIC/Six Sigma and/or ASQ Certification (CQE/CQM) a plus
· Previous experience in APQP and PPAP preferred
· Ability to travel (Mexico & US) periodically on business-related trips
