Our client is a fast-growing, deep-tech company that pioneers breakthroughs in programmable photonics for next-generation data and AI systems. Their technology is redefining how information moves and processes at scale, combining photonics, microelectronics, and software to build smarter, faster, and more efficient networks.

Reporting to the Head of PMO, the Grants Project Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of national and EU-funded programmes — from proposal through execution to audit. You'll ensure compliance, maintain stakeholder alignment, and deliver outcomes that contribute directly to Europe's innovation landscape.

Responsibilities Include

  • Leading and coordinating internal teams and external consortium partners to achieve technical and administrative project goals
  • Managing reporting, documentation, and financial oversight across multiple grants and frameworks
  • Monitoring milestones, budgets, and deliverables to ensure alignment with funding regulations
  • Preparing and reviewing reports, audits, and submissions for European and national funding bodies
  • Representing the organisation in review meetings and technical discussions with external stakeholders

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience managing EU or nationally funded R&D projects (Horizon Europe, EISMEA, IPCEI, or similar)
  • Degree in engineering, physics, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills with experience in multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Familiarity with project management tools (MS Project, ERP, or grant management platforms
  • Excellent written and spoken English; additional European languages welcome
  • Proactive and structured approach with the ability to handle complexity and shifting priorities
