Expert (Junior), Digital Innovation
Location: Barcelona, Spain
At dsm-firmenich, we're building the future by harnessing the power of digital innovation and we're looking for a hands-on, tech-savvy, and highly organized junior Digital Innovation Manager to help drive this transformation.

In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting digital innovation projects from start to finish. Working alongside senior team members, you'll assist with the implementation of early-stage initiatives and contribute to strategic efforts. With your organized approach, eagerness to learn, and interest in new digital technologies, you'll have opportunities to expand your skills and make a meaningful contribution as you grow in your career.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with colleagues to understand challenges and help identify how technology, startups, or new business models could address their needs.
• Support the digital innovation lifecycle of an initiative (Lighthouse), including opportunity framing, solution development, execution, and handover for scaling
• Assist in building multi-disciplinary teams to design and deliver scalable proof-of-concepts that generate measurable impact
• Contribute to building a culture of experimentation by encouraging colleagues to try new ideas and supporting ongoing learning within the team.
• Help define methodologies and best practices to accelerate digital innovation across the organization
• Assist in tracking and updating the digital innovation project portfolio, focusing on measuring project outcomes, monitoring budgets, and supporting resource planning.
• Explore opportunities for Open Innovation and engage with startups, research institutions, and industry thought leaders
• Stay informed on the latest industry and technology trends. Collaborate with internal experts to explore technical feasibility of new concepts to prepare for new digital innovation initiatives.

You Bring

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Innovation Management, or related field
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in digital innovation, project coordination, or consulting
• Imaginative – A creative thinker, continuously exploring new possibilities, questioning assumptions, and finding unconventional ways to innovate
• Industry – Experience or strong interest in BeautyTech, HealthTech, or FoodTech.
• Entrepreneurial & Doer Mindset – driving progress in complex environments through creative yet structured approaches. Navigate ambiguity and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic settings
• Communicate & Influence – Strong communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly, build trusted relationships, and engage and influence senior stakeholders. Fluent in English; other languages a plus
• Leadership & Collaboration – Ability to lead cross-functional teams and driving alignment across diverse stakeholders. Collaborate effectively on a global scale, navigating geographies, business units, and cultures with ease
• Tech Savvy - Familiarity with tech concepts: APIs, data models, cloud platforms, digital product development
