We are working with a leading
data centre subcontractor
specialising in the
design and installation of mechanical cooling solutions
for large-scale, mission-critical facilities. Due to continued growth in the Spanish data centre market, they are seeking an experienced
Senior Mechanical Engineer / Project Engineer
to join their team in
Zaragoza
.

This is a key role overseeing the delivery of mechanical and cooling packages on hyperscale and colocation data centre projects.

The Role

As Senior Mechanical / Project Engineer, you will take responsibility for the
engineering, coordination, and delivery
of mechanical works, with a strong focus on data centre cooling systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing mechanical engineering and project delivery for data centre cooling installations
  • Coordinating with clients, main contractors, consultants, and internal teams
  • Reviewing mechanical designs, specifications, and technical submittals
  • Overseeing installation, testing, and commissioning of cooling systems (e.g. CRAH/CRAC, chillers, pipework)
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Supporting procurement, subcontractor management, and site teams
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety and industry standards

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Proven experience working on
    data centre projects
    (cooling / HVAC essential)
  • Background with a
    mechanical subcontractor
    or specialist contractor preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge of cooling systems and mechanical services
  • Experience in project engineering, site engineering, or senior mechanical roles
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluent Spanish required; English highly desirable
