ABOUT THE CLIENT

I'm supporting an established international organisation embarking on a large-scale modernisation programme. They're building out a dedicated SRE function to help standardise cloud foundations, improve observability, and drive an engineering-led approach to operations. It's a mature environment — multi-cloud, high-availability, and genuinely investing in reliability

engineering.

THE SENIOR SRE ROLE:

You'll play a key role in codifying and automating the "vertical stack" — from foundational Azure resources through to cloud-native services and edge compute. A lot of the early work revolves around standardising Terraform modules, building repeatable baselines, and making sure everything integrates cleanly with central security, observability and monitoring platforms.

You'll also support deployments of Azure Local and Arc, plus contribute to backup/fail-safe patterns that unify on-prem operations with cloud recovery. This is a hands-on engineering role with plenty of room to influence standards, patterns, and how the organisation thinks about reliability.

SENIOR SRE SKILLS


• Strong SRE / Cloud Engineering background (Azure preferred)


• Terraform & Terraform Cloud, GitHub Actions


• Azure Arc, AKS, VMs, storage, networking (VNETs/NSGs)


• Understanding of DNS (Infoblox), domain controllers and connectivity (VPN/ExpressRoute)


• Experience integrating monitoring/observability (Datadog)


• Ability to work across multi-disciplinary cloud/SRE teams


• Clear, collaborative communication style
