As a family-friendly, medium-sized company with flat hierarchies and headquarters in Dresden plus branch offices in Berlin and Erfurt, we have been the first point of contact for surveying and planning railway facilities for more than 30 years. For our Planning Department, we are seeking an experienced and committed professional as 
Department Head Planning (m/f/d)

at the earliest possible date.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the planning team in superstructure and civil engineering, drainage and underground cable installation
  • Assume responsibility for planning complex infrastructure projects, particularly in rail construction
  • Strategically develop the department and implement new technologies (e.g., BIM, digital construction simulation)
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, schedules, and budgets
  • Participate in acquiring new projects and calculating planning services
  • Represent the department internally and externally
  • Coordinate and liaise with clients, authorities, and third parties

Your Profile

  • Completed degree in civil engineering (ideally with specialization in railway construction or equivalent)
  • Several years of professional experience in planning superstructure and civil engineering, drainage and underground cable installation in the infrastructure sector, particularly in rail construction
  • Experience in team management or as a project manager is an advantage
  • Solid knowledge of HOAI, VOB, and relevant railway regulations
  • Confident handling of CAD programs (e.g., AutoCAD) and MS Office applications
  • Cross-disciplinary understanding and knowledge of interdependencies in planning railway infrastructure projects
  • High degree of self-initiative, sense of responsibility, and strong communication skills
  • Structured and results-oriented working method
  • German C1
