The Role's Key Responsibilities and Tasks

We don't look just for developers to do their code and move on to the next ticket, we want Engineers who challenge the status quo, bring new ideas to the table, that can influence, drive and have a say in the way we address our customers, the way we build our product and the way we work. Does this sound like you?

As an eDOer in this new diverse team, you will have the unique challenge of pioneering our next-generation travel experience. You will be at the forefront of Generative AI, focusing on inspirational search and complex trip planning. As a Senior Software Engineer in this team, you will be in charge of:

  • Work with a cutting-edge, experimental stack that may differ from our standard environment. This includes utilizing the Agentic Development Kit or LangGraph, and implementing protocols such as MCP, A2A, or AG-UI.
  • Design and build sophisticated agentic models capable of autonomous reasoning to power deep integrations with external marketplaces like ChatGPT or Google A2A.
  • Work in close contact with our Data Science team to bridge the gap between research and production. You will partner with scientists to validate agents, fine-tune performance, and translate advanced AI concepts into scalable engineering solutions.
  • Go beyond traditional internal deployments; you may be required to deploy and manage applications in external environments and distinct ecosystems.
  • Actively participate in defining products for inspirational search and trip planning. You will need to think "out of the box" to solve complex user problems using Generative AI.
  • Actively participate in the product definition and ideation processes.
  • Work in an even more fast-paced ecosystem, pushing your agile mindset to new heights to deliver value continuously.
  • Help the team grow by mentoring more junior team members to continue improving, giving feedback and sharing your expertise.
  • Challenge decisions, be proactive and seek to improve technical excellence.

What you need to succeed:

Bring your unique perspective, speak up, and offer disruptive solutions. You'll have the opportunity to learn and grow while making a real impact on our team. Here's what you need to succeed:

  • More than 5 years experience with Java.
  • You live and breathe AI. You are constantly reading papers, experimenting with new models in your spare time, and genuinely excited about the potential of Generative AI to transform industries.
  • Familiarity with our core business modules—such as flight search, hotel search, meta, pricing, and packaging—is a huge plus. Understanding how these systems work will help you effectively integrate agentic AI into our existing ecosystem.
  • Solid background in software engineering (data structures, concurrency, design patterns, algorithms). While we value our standard stack, flexibility to adapt to new languages and frameworks is key.
  • Knowledge or willingness to master tools like LangGraph, Agentic Development Kit, and protocols like MCP, A2A, and AG-UI, as well GenAI and Agentic models and LLM orchestrations.
  • Experience or familiarity with deploying applications into external ecosystems or marketplaces (e.g., ChatGPT plugins, third-party platforms).
  • A creative approach to problem-solving. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and building solutions that may not have a predefined playbook.
  • Ability to analyse, challenge decisions constructively and provide creative solutions to complex problems, focusing on the outcome and not on the tasks.
  • Be a team player, with good communication and mentoring skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Applied AI Tools: Demonstrated comfort using practical AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI-powered coding assistants.
  • Experimentation Mindset: Curiosity and eagerness to explore, experiment with, and integrate emerging AI-driven solutions into software development workflows.
  • AI-Enhanced Problem Solving: Ability to effectively leverage AI tools to debug code, streamline development processes, and enhance productivity.
  • Adaptability and Learning Agility: Enthusiastic about continuously learning and quickly adapting to new AI features and capabilities.
  • Collaboration with AI: Experience or interest in collaborating closely with AI tools as "pair programmers" to complement traditional software development practices.
