Chief Financial Officer - Barcelona region

Our client is a leading, B2B SAAS business, headquartered in Barcelona with an extensive blue chip client base. Following a period of sustained profitable growth, the business recently gained institutional investment from one of Europe's leading, growth Buy-Out Funds.

As a result of this investment, the business is now looking to appoint a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will be part of the Executive Committee, including direct exposure to the private equity shareholders. You will be integral in contributing to the strategic direction of the overall business as a key member of the Management Team.

Role Overview

The CFO will be tasked with scaling and developing a 'best in class' team and function to meet the significant growth and strategic ambitions of the business over the coming years.

Responsibilities

  • Support the CEO, Executive Team & Board on business planning and long-term growth initiatives, based upon financial insights.
  • Take responsibility for the planning, implementation, managing and running of all the Finance activities of the business (financial control, business planning, tax, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, compliance and cash flow management)
  • Oversee all aspects of day-to-day, operational financial management of the business
  • Drive performance management by linking financial results to operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage the Group's yearly budget and forecasting cycle.
  • Develop and implement commercial frameworks and tools to underpin the growth of the business and allow it to meet the strategic growth opportunities.
  • Provide high-quality commercial analysis and business insight particular to a B2B SAAS business.
  • Drive ad hoc projects and business modelling to anticipate and meet market changes, as required.
  • Lead ERP system review and implementation if necessary.

Profile

  • Track record of leading international Finance teams within a high growth SaaS company is essential: either as a number one or a seasoned number two of a growth business who is keen to step up.
  • Evidence of shaping a Finance function in a fast-paced industry with a high level of change and dynamism.
  • Strong analytical, operational and strategic background - operational capacity to handle practical tasks, coupled with high-level strategic vision.
  • Demonstrated experience of effective support for business and commercial strategy.
  • Prior experience in a company with a private equity shareholder would be advantageous
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, passion and a drive to succeed.
  • A "problem-solving" approach, analytical, responsive, effective & ability to prioritise.
  • Excellent communication skills; credibility when explaining business performance to a wide range of audiences
  • Native or fluent Spanish & English
