Senior Azure Data Platform Engineer (Hybrid - Barcelona, Spain)

Our international client is on the lookout for a Senior Azure Data Platform Engineer with SQL knowledge. This is a rare opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation, passionate team that's reimagining how modern cloud platforms operate across the enterprise. You'll be joining a highly skilled engineering team responsible for building and maintaining one of Europe's most advanced Azure environments - at scale, with automation, security, and performance at its core.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, maintain and optimize robust and scalable IT platforms, with a focus on cloud
    (mainly Azure) services
    , to meet business needs and performance standards.
  • Implement and manage
    CI/CD pipelines using terraform
  • Develop and maintain programs, including stored procedures, functions, and queries, to support various business needs.
  • Review and improve code written by other team members to ensure best practices and performance standards.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell for automation, Azure modules and error handling.
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards, security concepts, and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest
    Azure Data and MS-SQL technologies
  • services and best practices, advising on their implementation.

What we're looking for

  • Strong technical knowledge in
    Terraform and Azure Services incl. Azure Synapse.
  • Skilled in
    Bash
    and
    PowerShell
    scripting, with solid understanding of
    JSON
    and
    YAML
    .
  • Exposure to
    Python
    ,
    networking
    , and
    security hardening
    is a plus.
  • Experience with
    Git
    ,
    Azure DevOps
    , or
    GitHub Actions
    for version control and automation.
  • Confident communicator and problem solver who thrives in a collaborative environment.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
