ROLE SUMMARY:

Sotogrande International School is seeking an experienced and passionate educator to join our international learning community as a Teacher of MYP Individuals & Societies (I&S) with DP History. This role offers an exciting opportunity to teach within a vibrant IB World School that values inquiry, collaboration, and academic excellence. The successful candidate will inspire students to think critically and engage thoughtfully with the human sciences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and deliver engaging MYP Individuals & Societies lessons aligned with IB philosophy
  • Teach IB Diploma Programme History at Standard and Higher Level
  • Develop effective digital resources and eAssessments to support student learning
  • Collaborate on the creation, reflection, and ongoing refinement of MYP unit planners
  • Supervise Extended Essays in History and/or interdisciplinary subjects
  • Contribute actively to departmental planning, assessment, moderation, and reflective practice

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • A strong belief in inquiry-based learning and the principles of the IB
  • Proven experience teaching MYP Individuals & Societies
  • Essential experience delivering IB DP History at Standard and Higher Level
  • Confidence in applying interdisciplinary and conceptual approaches within the human sciences
  • High levels of technological proficiency, including the use of digital assessment tools such as AssessPrep or similar
  • A collaborative approach to teaching and curriculum development within a team-oriented department
