Job Summary

The Project Manager - STEP Dev Factory & Middleware plays a pivotal role within STEP, with a specific focus on the coordination of all technical activities needed around middleware technologies to integrate a system in STEP landscape and the BAU teams. Reporting to the STEP Integration Lead, this position ensures seamless cooperation between STEP and the Technology organization and ensures timely completion of all middleware activities. The Dev Factory Project Manager leads delivery of end-to-end integrations across SAP and non-SAP systems using platforms such as Boomi, SAP Integration Suite (CPI, API Management, Integration Advisor), SAP Integration Center (IC), and SAP Process Orchestration (PO/PI). The role orchestrates cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant interfaces leveraging IDoc, RFC/BAPI, OData, REST/SOAP, and EDI (X12/EDIFACT) standards. You will drive roadmap, governance, and delivery excellence to support mission-critical processes across Finance, Supply Chain, HR, Procurement, and Compliance.

Your Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinate activities between STEP and all Technology Functions incl. Architecture, Security, SAP and BAU Organization facilitating effective communication, knowledge transfer, and alignment of objectives throughout the transformation lifecycle.

• Plan, manage, and execute integration projects across diverse platforms (SAP and non-SAP).

• Analyze and document system connectivity requirements, including network activities, protocols, and data flows.

• Ensure compliance with security standards (SSL/TLS, encryption, authentication) and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with IT infrastructure, security, and application teams to define port-level configurations, firewall rules, and secure communication channels.

• Direct the design, build, and deployment of integrations using:

• Boomi AtomSphere (Atoms/Molecules, Process Reporting, Environments).

• SAP Integration Suite: CPI (iFlows), API Management, Integration Advisor, Event Mesh (event-driven patterns).

• SAP Integration Center (IC) for SuccessFactors extracts and orchestrations.

• SAP PO/PI for legacy/transition scenarios.

• Govern interface patterns for SAP S/4HANA, ECC, SuccessFactors, Ariba, Concur, MDG, BW/4HANA/Datasphere integration with internal and external applications.

• Ensure performant, reusable, versioned design artifacts and enforce standards for mappings, canonical models, error handling, and security.

• Develop detailed integration architecture diagrams, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.

• Monitor project progress, manage timelines, and ensure successful delivery within scope and budget.

• Provide technical leadership and resolve integration issues during implementation.

• Direct and oversee project teams (including external partners), maintaining strict control over progress, quality, and budget to ensure delivery against defined business objectives.

• Maintains environment details, technical design, architectural component records.

• Set up and lead all project-related meetings, maintaining comprehensive records of actions, decisions, issues, and risks, and serving as the primary point of contact for all project-related escalations.

• Ensure a smooth transition from project delivery to operational handover, planning and executing all activities associated with each release to minimise business disruption and maximise value realisation.

• Collaborate closely with stakeholder success teams and internal departments to gather requirements, provide regular updates, and ensure solutions are fully aligned with business needs and expectations.

• Oversee the integration and optimisation of re-use and build applications, identifying opportunities to streamline business processes and enhance operational efficiency.

• Maintain strong relationships with vendors and external partners to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality solutions and ongoing support.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to the organisation's digital transformation and growth agenda.

• Monitor and report on key performance indicators to measure project success.

• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices across all aspects of the project and operational coordination.

Minimum Requirements

What you'll bring to the role:

• Proven experience managing complex IT projects within large-scale enterprise transformation programmes.

• Strong understanding of Sandoz' application landscapes and BAU operational environments.

• Strong knowledge of SAP landscapes, middleware, APIs, and integration frameworks.

• Expertise in network protocols, SSL/TLS, VPN, and secure data transmission.

• Familiarity with security compliance standards (ISO, GDPR, etc.).

• Hands-on leadership with SAP Integration Suite (CPI, API Mgmt, Integration Advisor), Boomi, and SAP PO/PI.

• Deep knowledge of IDoc (basic types, segments, extensions, change pointers), BAPI/RFC, OData, REST/SOAP, EDI (X12/EDIFACT), AS2/SFTP/HTTPS/JMS, JSON/XML/CSV transformations.

• Experience with SuccessFactors, Ariba, Concur, S/4HANA/ECC, MDG connectivity and patterns.

• Monitoring/ops with SAP AIF, CPI Monitoring, Cloud ALM/Solution Manager, Boomi dashboards; integration with SIEM/APM tools.

• Security: OAuth2, SAML, mTLS, cert/key mgmt, IP allowlists, token lifecycles.

• Knowledge of API management, data transformation, and event-driven architecture.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.

• PMP or similar certification is a plus

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage external partners.

• Expertise in project planning, risk management, and change management.

• Track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Business Administration, or related business field; (Master's degree is preferred)

• Certification in project management methods (Agile, ITIL, Prince 2, PMI) is a plus.

• Experience with Agile/DevOps methodologies; Certification is a plus
