SUMMARY

Branch Manager shall assist General Manager in the duties of the location.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Branch Manager is responsible for the efficient organization of all department processes and personnel within the location, so that they can meet clients' needs accurately and on time.
  • Is responsible for and takes care of running the operation, while meeting the requirements for safety, quality of service, employee satisfaction and maintenance of assets. Branch Manager must ensure full cooperation with General Manager and all other managers on all assignments. 
  • Must follow all company procedures as established by Saybolt and Core Laboratories, including but not limited to HSE Manual, Accounting Policies & Procedures, Saybolt Administration Instruction Letter, IT procedures, Ethics Policy, etc.  Must keep updated and aware of all updates and act accordingly.
  • Branch Manager reports directly to General Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum nautical bachelor's degree/ Chemical degree or at least 5 years' experience in similar management position.
  • Good verbal and written knowledge of local language and English.
  • Proficient use of MS Office.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in leadership position
  • Familiar with basic financial and customer service principles.
  • Leadership abilities, interpersonal skills, good communication skills and team building skills.
  • Highly organized, positive, problem solving and analytical.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
COMPETENCIES
  • Safety: In collaboration with local Safety Officer, shall ensure that all employees follow safety instructions and premises, equipment and processes are in conformance to HSE Manual and local safety regulations.
  • Organization: The Branch Manager shall organize and coordinate of all departments within the location to meet both client and company needs. Shall ensure that all reports, correspondence and other documents are logically and properly filed, with adequate referencing.
  • Financial: Shall assist the local accounts department by providing accurate information to prepare company financial reports in time. Shall assist the General Manager and Accountant to prepare the monthly 'flash report' accurately and in time. At any time, can request financial information from the accounting department to help in the organization of the company processes and resources.
  • Personnel: The Branch Manager shall coordinate all employees in all departments. The Branch Manager shall ensure that proper training is given to all employees' prior job performance including ongoing monitoring. It must be ensured that proper training records are being kept. The Branch Manager shall carry out the CoreLab Performance Appraisal process for the employees under direct control and coach and supervise the appraisals performed by the managers of the location. 
  • Information Technology: The Branch Manager shall ensure that adequate electronic media are used to facilitate work in the location. It must be ensured that proper back up system is regularly done to protect company and client information. The Branch Manager must cooperate with the IT person in charge at the location so that CoreLab IT procedures are followed and local IT systems protected.
  • Environment: The Branch Manager shall make sure that location environment regulations are followed.  Sample transport, storage and destructions. Records of samples taken and destruction date shall be kept in place.  Samples shall be properly and timely destroyed as per instructions.
  • SharePoint: SharePoint shall be kept updated with location announcements, meetings and other information relative to the location. The Branch Manager shall keep track of the announcements and changes posted on global Saybolt site.
  • Client Relations: The Branch Manager shall be in contact with local and international clients to maintain good relations.  Records of such visits shall be kept.
  • Laboratory Testing: Close contact with General Manager, Chief Laboratory and Laboratory Manager shall be kept in case of quality matters/disputes. Branch Manager shall ensure that proper disclaimers are made on client report for both inspection and laboratory. 
  • Price Policy: In case of any special requests from clients regarding pricing, the Branch Manager shall contact the General Manager. 
  • Quality Assurance: The Branch Manager will cooperate with the Quality Manager to assist the General Manager in keeping the location's quality system active and healthy.
  • Meetings: The Branch Manager shall organize regular meetings with all staff including the management team to inform or discuss accordingly.
  • Special Training Assignments: At any time, Branch Manager can be asked to prepare training presentations for both local and international clients and deliver this training.
