Hands-on Data Scientist Manager (AI start-up)
Salary: €87k + 10% bonus
Industry: AI software, start-up - heavily backed by a global investor
Workplace: Hybrid - 2 days per week
Offices: Barcelona or Madrid
Our client, the AI tech firm, are helping businesses across the globe prioritize and deliver impact at speed. 2026 is going to be a very busy year and we need a Lead Data Scientist who's are ready for their next move in either Madrid or Barcelona. You don't need to have managed / led teams, but you will need to have experience mentoring & coaching.

Do you know how the data you're working with effects the business? This question is KEY.
Do you have a passion/interest in AI?
Are you a people-person and someone who can work in an start-up, nimble environment?
Tech stack / experience needed:
- Python, R, SQL
- Lead an AI lab and develop AI products
- OO programming - APUI's, AWS Lambda, crontab
- 4+ years Machine Learning methodologies
- Business acumen, experience with stakeholders
- Experience with embeddings, genAI and some LLM fine tuning
- Calibration of unbalanced problems, RF vs XGB, data leakage with oversampling
- PhD or Masters in Data Science / Engineering / Mathematics
- AWS experience is a bonus
