Our client is seeking a
Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Layout Engineer
to join their photonics design team based in Spain. The role focuses on the
layout design, verification, and optimisation
of photonic integrated circuits for advanced optical and optoelectronic applications.
Hybrid or remote work options
are available for suitable candidates.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in PIC layout design using tools such as IPKISS, Nazca, Klayout, or GDS Factory
- Strong understanding of photonic device structures, waveguide routing, and design-for-manufacture principles
- Experience with DRC, LVS, and layout verification for foundry-compatible processes (e.g. silicon photonics, InP)
- Familiarity with design automation, parametric design, and scripting (Python or similar)
- Degree (MSc or PhD preferred) in Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively across design and fabrication teams
