Low Current Systems Engineer – Data Center

I. Job Summary

Low Current Systems Engineers are responsible for the design, implementation management, commissioning, and maintenance support of various low-current/low-voltage (ELV) systems within the data center, ensuring stable system operation and meeting the high standards of data center security, reliability, scalability, and compliance.

II. Key Responsibilities

1. System Design and Technical Solutions

Responsible for the design, selection, and technical solution development of low-current systems for data centers.

Prepare system design drawings, technical specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM).

Participate in project feasibility studies, solution reviews, and technical briefings.

Ensure the design meets data center tier requirements (e.g., Tier III/IV) and related standards.

Structured Cabling System (Copper/Fiber)

Video Surveillance System (CCTV)

Access Control and Security System (ACS)

Intrusion Alarm System (IAS)

Building Management System Interface (BMS/IBMS)

Fire Alarm Interface and Linkage System (FAS Interface)

Public Address and Emergency Broadcasting System (PA/VA)

Data Center Environmental Monitoring System (EMS/DCIM Interface)

Network and Communication Support Systems (excluding core IT equipment)

1. Project Implementation and On-site Management

Supervise the construction unit to implement the low-current system engineering according to design and specifications.

Coordinate the interface relationships between low-voltage electrical systems and electromechanical (M&E), civil engineering, IT, and other disciplines.

Participate in equipment installation, cabling, termination, labeling, and system integration management.

Handle technical issues and changes that arise during construction.

1. System Commissioning and Acceptance

Organize and participate in system commissioning, functional testing, and linkage testing.

Ensure system performance, redundancy, and reliability meet design requirements.

Prepare test reports, acceptance documents, and as-built documentation.

Support the acceptance work of clients, third parties, or auditing units.

1. Operation and Maintenance Support and Optimization (if applicable)

Provide technical support and system training to the operation and maintenance team.

Assist in establishing system operation and maintenance processes, emergency plans, and SOPs.

Analyze system operation data and propose optimization and upgrade suggestions.

Cooperate with the technical support needs of the data center operating 24/7.

1. Compliance and Standards Management

Ensure system compliance with national and industry standards and data center specifications.

Follow information security, physical security, and privacy protection requirements.

Cooperate with internal and external audits, certifications, and security checks.

III. Qualifications

Education Background

Bachelor's degree or above in Electronic Engineering, Communication Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or a related field.

Work Experience

3–8 years of experience in low-current/low-voltage system engineering.

Experience in data center, IDC, large campus, or critical infrastructure projects is preferred.

Experience in full lifecycle projects (design – construction – acceptance – operation and maintenance) is preferred.

Professional Skills

Familiar with mainstream low-current system architecture and equipment.

Able to read and draw low-voltage system diagrams and construction drawings.

Familiar with structured cabling standards and fiber optic systems.

Understand basic network knowledge and system integration principles.

Proficient in using engineering tools such as AutoCAD and Office.
