About IFAE

The Institut de Física d'Altes Energies (IFAE) is a public consortium of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Autonomous Government of Catalonia, and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB, a public university) whose main objective is to carry out research and to contribute to the development of high energy physics from a theoretical, experimental and technological point of view. IFAE has the status of a "University Institute" attached to the UAB and its premises are within the campus of the University.

Job mission

IFAE is seeking a Projects Manager with the goal to manage administratively and financially the granted project CENTROS DE EXCELENCIA SEVERO OCHOA at IFAE (CEX S).

Job profile and tasks

The successful candidate will be expected to play a central role in: As the project manager, act as the link between the funding agency and the team involved in the project, together with the IP responsible. In charge of the daily management, including efficient track recording of all administrative and financial aspects. Preparation of the management templates and all needed documents for the smooth implementation of the project. Responsible for the reporting processes to the funding organism in the quality and within the deadlines required. Provide daily coordination support to all team members and, specifically, support the IP with the understanding of the financial agreement and know-how according to the rules of the call for all the implementation period. In charge of the possible audits and further requirements from the funding organism involving administrative and financial aspects.

Required skills:
  • University degree.
  • Experience of, at least, one year as Research Project Manager.
  • High level of English is mandatory (Advance or beyond).
  • Track record in managing national and/or international research grants.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform team work.
  • Capability to work under strict deadlines.
  • Strong technical skills, including anticipating and adopting new applications.

The evaluation criteria and their weighting for the submitted applications will be the following:

  • Experience as Research Project Manager with Spanish and European public calls: 80 points
  • Experience in big science projects and/or international collaborations: 10 points
  • Experience in Spanish research centres: 10 points
Offered contract
  • Full-time contract (40 h/week), from Monday to Friday.
  • Contract: Indefinit Activitats Científico Tècniques with trial period according to category (Approximate duration until 31/03/2029).
  • The position will correspond to a Tècnic/a de gestió Nivell 1.
  • Salary will be proportional to experience and qualifications within the corresponding category range.
