About the role
We're looking for a Technology Director to lead the creative technology practice at Feels Like. You'll guide teams across a wide range of projects—from experimental prototypes to production-ready experiences—ensuring we're always delivering work that's technically sound, emotionally resonant, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
As Technology Director, you'll set the technical vision, mentor creative developers, and help shape our approach to interaction, real-time graphics, digital platforms, and emerging technologies. You'll collaborate closely with our design, strategy, and production teams, balancing hands-on coding with higher-level oversight.
The role is also strategic, being part of the Global Leadership of the studio you will be able to design a team around you, define the technology vision and the overall studio direction.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who combines deep technical expertise with a love for experimentation and a strong design sensibility. You should be excited by the idea of building a culture where technology is used not just for utility, but for expression, emotion, and storytelling.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience in creative or experiential technology.
- Proven track record leading technical direction on interactive projects, from concept to delivery.
- Strong expertise in front-end development (React, CSS, TypeScript/JavaScript).
- Deep experience with WebGL/WebGPU, shader programming, and real-time graphics pipelines.
- Solid experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g. Shopify, headless commerce, custom integrations) and understanding of performance, scalability, and user experience in transactional environments.
- Understanding of systems architecture, performance optimization, and scalable builds.
- Familiarity with VR/AR platforms and immersive technologies (Apple Vision Pro, VisionOS, Metal shaders a strong plus).
- Comfort exploring and integrating AI frameworks/tools to accelerate workflows (aka
vibe coding awareness
). - Excellent communication skills — able to translate between technical and creative teams.
- Strong leadership qualities: mentoring, giving feedback, and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Based in (or willing to relocate to) Barcelona.
