Job Description Singapore Airlines is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Cargo Spain to lead the Cargo division in Barcelona, Spain.
This key leadership role combines both commercial and operational oversight, ensuring the efficient management and growth of our cargo business in Spain.
You will drive strategic initiatives to maximize revenue, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer experience, while managing day-to-day operations and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth: Lead the commercial strategy for Cargo operations in Spain, driving revenue growth through market analysis, customer engagement, and identifying new business opportunities.
Work closely with sales teams to ensure alignment on customer needs, service offerings, and pricing strategies.
Operational Oversight: Oversee day-to-day Cargo operations, ensuring efficient and compliant handling of shipments, timely deliveries, and adherence to internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with operations teams to optimize capacity, manage schedules, and maintain high operational standards.
Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention.
Act as the key point of contact for major clients and stakeholders, addressing any operational or service-related issues promptly.
Performance Analysis & Reporting: Lead performance tracking and reporting for both commercial and operational aspects of the business.
Analyse cargo volume, revenue trends, and operational performance to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous efficiency gains.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead and develop a high-performing team within the Cargo division, ensuring effective communication, motivation, and continuous professional development.
Promote a culture of excellence, collaboration, and customer focus.
Requirements
Must have the right to work and live in Barcelona, Spain
Fluent in English and Spanish
Diploma / Degree in Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in cargo management, logistics, or transportation, with a focus on both commercial and operational aspects.
Proven experience in leading teams and managing cross-functional projects, with a track record of driving business growth and operational excellence.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights to improve both commercial and operational outcomes.
In-depth knowledge of cargo operations, including regulatory compliance, customs procedures, capacity management, and industry best practices.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with cargo management systems (e.g., Amadeus, CargoSpot) is advantageous.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide teams towards achieving company goals and KPIs.
