**Who we are**
We are a boutique consulting firm specialized in the fields of cyber security and lean product development. We strive for simple, elegant solutions to difficult problems and have a passion for making things unfold one iteration at a time.
**Our mission**
We've been researching the Bitcoin blockchain, the Lightning Network and the world of Web3 as a platform for democratising all things digital. We would like to build our own space in the Web3 ecosystem, with a particular focus to Lightning Network.
**Your mission in the team**
As a Lead Engineer you will work closely with other developers, designers and key stakeholders within the business on creating our core product from scratch. In this role you will have to balance people, technical expertise, system thinking and economic tradeoffs.
**What do we expect from you?**
- You’ll be passionate about Web3 and have the following tools on your belt.
- A wealth of SaaS systems design and development expertise as well as passion for hands-on engineering of cutting edge solutions.
- A solid track record of building and leading strong software engineering teams.
- Direct experience of using one or more public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure and/or GCP), Functions as a Service (lambda, serverless).
- Knowledge of modern front-end frameworks such as React or Flutter, with at least one being your go-to swiss army knife, and what it takes to deliver fast user experiences via mobile apps.
- Hands-on understanding of how to architect high frequency/low latency back-end microservices, including using a variety of data stores depending on the use case (SQL, Document, Graph, IPFS etc.).
- Experience in designing APIs using REST or GraphQL, both for internal and third party access.
- Experience with vendor selection and/or making decisions about tools, use of proprietary vs open source software solutions as well as white label integration of 3rd party modules.
**Key roles**
- As Lead Engineer, you will be one of the founding members of the company development team. As such, you will participate in the recruitment and nurturing of the engineering team ensuring we have “just enough” structure to work effectively as a team.
- Participate in the establishment and refinement of our development process, from requirements to production.
- Together with the VP of Engineering, ensure enough architectural runway is available so that solution design doesn’t become a bottleneck for delivery.
- Author performant, robust and testable code across the Tribes community platform repos.
- Hold the rest of the engineering team to the highest standard of quality, helping people create the best possible product via collaborative design, code reviews and continuous feedback.

**It's nice to have**
- Experience with complex dependencies across multiple platforms.
- Experience managing engineering projects for quality and time to market.
- Demonstrated interest or experience with blockchain related development and Web3 technologies through any of: work experience, open source work, personal projects, or similar experiences.
- Demonstrated ability and interest in coaching and mentoring more junior members of the engineering team in a servant-leadership capacity.
