Project Engineer

Weir Minerals Europe is part of the Weir Group PLC, the business has been established for over 150 years and is a world leader in the design and manufacture of pumps, valves, cyclones, vibrating screen machines, crushers and other associated equipment for the mining and minerals processing industries

**The Project Engineer will be responsible for the execution of plant solution projects across Europe and will be based from our site in Spain or alternatively Poland/UK.**:

- Reporting to the Integrated Solutions Engineering Manager
- Work and assisting Project Managers
- For the project execution all engineering tasks lead for mining process plants, crushing and screening projects, sand and gravel dry and wet process projects
- Release engineering deliverables in line with contract requirement ( overall 3D and 2D layout, general arrangement of the stations, piping, equipment station designs, civil footprints, FEA, static and dynamic calculations, maintenance and erection sequence documents, fabrication drawings when necessary and so on)
- Meet the design requirements in the scope by considering RFQ, internal design criteria, customer contract, related EN standards and Eurocodes and other standards
- Coordinate/ identify the engineering tasks and assign engineering tasks to all project partners to meet the design requirements ( Vendors, Designers, process engineers, product managers, consultants, supply chain )
- Organize and lead the layout reviews and approve/release the layout
- Check and release the technical specification for bought out equipment (technical specs, equipment drawings and data sheets)
- Meet the project schedule and deliver quality output on time
- Prepare the cost and time consequences of variation requests
- Support the project managers for the customer and vendor meetings and site visits ( engineering clarifications )
- Lead the Risk Analysis and HAZOP meetings and ensure the engineering will deliver the tasks assigned
- Support field personnel during erection and commissioning if any issues in relation to design
- Ensure that the company’s strict IP policies are adhered to at all times
- Ensure the health and safety requirements at the work place

**The post holder will have strong experience of the steel structure detail design of the plants equipment below**:

- Crushing equipment ( jaw/ cone/ impact crushers)
- Screening Equipment ( Dry Screens and dewatering screens )
- Washing Equipment ( Flat bottom classifiers, washers, cyclone cluster)
- Auxiliary equipment and structures ( pumps/ valves/piping)
- Material handling Equipment (feed hopper, surge bins, conveyors, transfer chutes)
- Tailing Equipment ( thickeners, filter presses, decanters )

**Person Specification**:

- A methodical approach to work with a high attention to detail to ensure the highest accuracy of their work.
- Must be interested and capable of learning and use a diverse set of design & processing software to visualize 3d layouts or flowsheets etc.
- Must work well in a team and be able to communicate well with staff at all levels in the Business
- Applicants must have a high level of personal integrity to protect the Companies Intellectual Property
- Must have an excellent level of English language, both written & spoken with an interest in constant improvement
