**Position overview**:
The CMDB Analyst is a new key role within the IT Service Management team. The main purpose of the role is to manage and maintain ongoing accuracy of configuration records held in the CMDB and to ensure effective configuration and change management through control of the CMDB’s entire lifecycle
As we move to implement an ITOM model and implementation of new discovery tool (s) that will complete the population of all required CMDB data, this role will be integral to the success of major ITS Transformation Projects (Data Centre Migration, Cloud Migration) ; the reduction of Technical debt and Risk mitigation for Major Change programmes in flight.
This role will also ensure data yielded from this process will be of high quality and provide management with the right level of business intelligence and reporting.

**Main duties and responsibilities**:
Work with vendor partners and ServiceNow administrators to drive configuration item discovery strategy and execution
Provide advice and support to the internal Project team that ensures successful delivery of the CMDB implementation objectives
Ensure successful Service Transition from the Project teams delivering the CMDB to Operations
Develop the service strategy and be responsible for the design, communication, and enforcement of Configuration Management
Development and management of CMDB data governance policy and process
Establish CMDB roadmap and report on milestones and key performance indicators
Ensure there are documented operational processes to ensure completeness and correctness of configuration item records
Works with configuration item class/data owners to drive adherence to the process and ensure correctness and completeness of CMDB
Identify, recognise,, and analyse potential CMDB process issues from current and historical data, driving correctness and completeness of CMDB as well as to address staleness and duplicate issues
Implement audits and help to establish remediation strategies related to findings
Drives CMDB management communication and documentation
Implement, develop and Chair the Configuration Control Board (CCB) and advisor to the Change Advisor Board (CAB) and enacts changes as directed
Assists with training the organisation on CMDB management concepts, policies, procedures.
Engaged in strategic projects to ensure the CMDB team can deliver required functionality and within project timeframes
Promote a Configuration Management culture that will ensure product attributes are defined
Promote a Configuration Management process to ensure that product configuration is documented and a known basis for making changes is established
Create reports for stake holders as directed by the Senior Manager of Service Management
Mange the ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping processes and troubleshooting the errors that arise
Develop and maintain CMDB KPIs to accurately report on the state of CMDB including Correctness, Staleness, Orphaned, and Completeness KPIs.

**Skills & Qualifications**:
Experience or equivalent combination of professional education and work experience of Change and Configuration and/or CMDB management.
Familiarity with Automated Discovery tools and their error logs
Proficient in data model design for CMDB, including the creation of relationships, data flows and conceptual and logical data models, data dictionaries
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across multiple stakeholders to ensure an effective CMDB that adheres to governance standards
Demonstrable experience with ITSM tooling with a focus on ITOM and ITSM
Experience in Service Management, underlying technologies, and direct support of end users
ITIL v3 practitioner certification or ITIL v4 Foundation
Experience with integrating ServiceNow with 3rd Parties

**Other**:
Travel, overnight stays and flexibility of working hours may be required in support of the duties of the role.
