The role will focus on the performance of operating wind energy assets and will propose potential improvements to maximize generation and reduce the levelized cost of energy (LCOE).
**Responsibilities include**:
- Monitor key performance indicators to determine the overall health and performance of assets
- Provide support to regional Operations and Maintenance teams about the faults, reliability and efficiency issues detected.
- Validate and support improvement of energy calculation methods
- Management and evaluation of retrofit projects
- Develop diagnostic and predictive analysis methods using Python, R or other scripting languages
- Product Development
- Experience with power curve testing methods (instrumentation, wind measurement, planning, analysis)
- Close collaboration with teams from Engineering, Operations, Information Systems and Wind Resource Assessment
- Mentor other engineers in data analytics methods and tools.
**Requirements**:
- Degree in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience with demonstrated history in analytics activities and/or projects
- Wind turbine system and/or component experience preferred
- Excellent understanding of SCADA data and energy production method
- Knowledge of data mining, troubleshooting and reporting
- Experience with data analysis, design, database and visualization tools (e.g. Python, R, SQL, Tableau)
- Must be comfortable working with large amounts of data
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Project management skills
- Willing to travel (up to 20% of time) Desire to have Machine learning technology skills
