**The Hotel**

Renowned Parisian designers Gilles & Boissier, have created a sophisticated residential design for the 100 rooms and 53 suites, including several one-of-a-kind specialty suites, featuring unique design elements inspired by the hotel’s historic connections to the city, Spanish culture, and art.

With a stunning and meticulous restoration that celebrates César Ritz’s pioneering spirit, a prestigious central location, five restaurants and bars overseen by one of Spain’s most celebrated chefs and exceptional leisure and wellness facilities, Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid is set to become the city’s most luxurious hotel.

The Director of Finance will provide leadership and guidance in all matters relating to the financial operation of the hotel, will develop and deliver accurate and timely financial reports to assist management decision making process and maintain internal control procedures designed to safeguard owners/investors assets and ensures compliance with country and local regulations.

Providing functional guidance to Executive Committee and Department Heads; Interacting with hotel’s legal counsel, insurance companies, tax consultants, auditors, commercial and government banks to effectively control the assets of the business.

Under the business supervision of the General Manager, and within the limits of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group policies and procedure and local requirements, the Director of Finance is responsible for the supervision of all members of the Accounting and Purchasing Departments.

**Responsibilities**:

- Comply with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group´s code of conduct and ensure that all business activities and business decisions comply with the general law, and with all rules and regulations.
- Support and adhere to all aspects of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and hotels Human Resource policies.
- Support and adhere to all policies & procedures relating to Safe, Sound and Sustainable at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
- _Divisional:_
- To direct, manage and support the development, implementation, maintenance, and administration of financial controls, based upon a maximization of internal control techniques consistent with Group corporate management established policy and generally accepted accounting principles, as adapted to the requirements of the hotel’s management contract and other local legal requirements.
- To implement and maintain acceptable accounting practices and procedures as required by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group´s policy, generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP), and as adapted to the requirements of the hotel’s management contract and other local legal requirements.
- To ensure compliance to terms and conditions of the hotel’s management contract, with regard to provisions relating to the company’s responsibilities as the managers and bringing any discrepancies to the immediate attention of the General Manager and group corporate management.
- To be actively involved in the search for opportunities to improve the profitability of the hotel and encourage the preparation of exception reports and analyses to help meet and measure the success of this objective.
- To manage, supervise and support all subordinate employees, with a view to optimizing the profitability of the hotel and improving the guest experience.
- To initiate employee development and evaluation programs for all subordinate staff to ensure the highest level of professional competence and efficient continuity within those positions.
- To organize an efficient treasury function to provide proper management of the hotel’s working capital and cash flow in accordance with Group corporate management minimum guidelines and within the requirements of the hotel’s management contract. Also, to ensure excessive investment is not made in receivables or inventories and that sufficient liquidity is maintained to meet the hotel’s obligations.
- To ensure all financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and other information required by Group Corporate management are accurately compiled and submitted within the specified time limits, identifying variances, and making recommendations for improvements as appropriate.
