The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. Designed to enrich the educational experiences of PhD student researchers, the program integrates tailored courses, a mobility program, and an annual Doctoral Symposium where students showcase their work through talks and posters. PhD students are enrolled at universities with agreements with the BSC, and their thesis committees typically include both BSC supervisors and university faculty members. Currently, over 70 PhD students are actively engaged in the program, conducting research at BSC that forms the foundation of their doctoral theses. The Education & Training team, housed within the Director’s Department, oversees the BSC Doctoral Program, and contributes to regional projects national awards (Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence), and European projects (EUMaster4HPC, EuroCC2, CASTIEL2). The funding for these actions/fellowships and contracts comes from the European Union Recovery and Resilience Facility - Next Generation, within the framework of the General Invitation by the public business entity Red.es to participate in the talent attraction and retention programs within Investment 4 of Component 19 of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan. "La financiación de estas actuaciones/becas y contratos, procede del Mecanismo de Recuperación y Resiliencia de la Unión Europea-Next Generation, en el marco de la Invitación General de la entidad pública empresarial Red.es para participar en los programas de atracción y retención del talento dentro de la Inversión 4 del Componente 19 del Plan de Recuperación, Transformación y Resiliencia.**Key Duties** - Lead the implementation of the doctoral program - Oversee the continuity and execution of established activities, protocols, monitoring, and events within the scope of the doctoral program - Facilitate collaborations to provide students with opportunities for interdisciplinary research and networking - Monitor and evaluate the doctoral program - Monitor PhD student progress in coordination with the BSC Graduate Committee - Collect and analyse education data related to equity and inclusion in coordination with the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Unit - Identify appropriate metrics to describe the state of the BSC doctoral program, and use these metrics to periodically report on the current status and progress towards program goals - Update and enhance the doctoral program - Establish mechanisms for continuous adaptation of the existing program to state-of-the-art HPC education and new technologies, including AI HPC skills for PhD students - Propose evidence-based changes to the doctoral program based on input from the BSC community, including students and advisors, and on relevant education research **Requirements**: - Education - Doctoral degree or equivalent experience in doctoral program leadership - Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience - Leadership of multidisciplinary teams, mentoring students, and coordinating faculty to achieve program goals - Experience in the design, implementation, coordination, or evaluation of graduate programs, or in curriculum development - Data collection, management, and analysis - Collaboration and networking - Written and oral communication - Flexibility and commitment to continued professional development - Strategic thinking and problem-solving to ensure long-term and continuous operation of the doctoral program - Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience - Fluency in English is essential.
