**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
c-LOG is a young, dynamic and motivated team committed to advancing our understanding of childhood liver cancer. Our focus is on hepatoblastoma, a rare paediatric tumour whose incidence is increasing globally, highlighting the need for further research to improve diagnosis, treatment and outcomes.
Due to its low mutational burden, hepatoblastoma presents unique challenges, requiring researchers to investigate alternative pathways to understand its development. Studying the proteome and tumour microenvironment could lead to the discovery of diagnostic/prognostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets, offering the potential for innovative treatment strategies.

**Key areas of interest include**:

- Validating diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers of hepatoblastoma and other childhood liver tumours by analysing proteomic databases.
- Glycosylation patterns in hepatoblastoma, which may play a crucial role in tumour biology and progression.
- Integrating the findings with molecular databases generated by the team.

The importance of this research is amplified by the limited treatment options currently available for children with advanced or aggressive forms of the disease. Working in this field represents a unique opportunity to contribute to breakthroughs in pediatric oncology.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Biomarker discovery and validation in retrospective and prospective cohorts from childhood liver cancer patients.
- Study of the proteomic expression profiling in childhood and adult liver cancer.
- Clean, validate, and manage large datasets using Power BI and potentially other relevant data analysis tools.

- Master’s degree.
- Desirable experience:

- Previous experience on laboratory techniques
- Abroad laboratory experience of minimum 3 months
- R knowledge and bioinformatic analysis of “omic” data
- Ability to work as a team
- Good verbal and written English level.
- High motivation to perform research in the pediatric oncology field
