The Cybersecurity Tools Development Engineer is charged with helping maintain our on-premise and cloud server environments and helping improve our automation capabilities. They are responsible for adding automation to retrieve, process and act upon data from APIs and assist in maintenance of security tools the team is responsible for maintaining. They will also help with management of the cloud and on-premise infrastructure managed by the team.

**What a Cybersecurity**Tools Development Engineer does at HP**:

- Support and contribute to development and maintenance of custom software projects and tooling, primarily Python and Django-based
- Assist HP cybersecurity with tasks best solved by automation
- Manage Linux infrastructure needed by the team
- Manage configuration, deployments, updates of commodity security tools across HP’s cloud and on-premise infrastructure
- Collaborate with members of peer teams to ensure their needs are met

**Individuals who thrive in this role at HP, typically have**:

- 4-6 years of relevant work experience
- Proficiency in developing code/scripts in a modern language, preferably Python
- Experience operating within cloud environments, preferably AWS
- Experience managing business-critical Linux environments
- Ability to interact effectively at all levels of an organization and across diverse cultural and linguistic barriers.

**Bonus points**:

- Familiarity and experience with Agile processes
- Experience working in cybersecurity organizations

The Cybersecurity Tools Development Engineer will be a part of HP’s Security Engineering, Innovation and Threat Intelligence team, enabling optimal communication and collaboration with closely related functions. As a Tools Development Engineer, you will also have the opportunity to interface with other HP functions using your knowledge to help our analysts protect HP from attacks.
