The **Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute** (IJC) is a non-profit research institute based in Barcelona dedicated to advancing the understanding of leukemia and related disorders, in collaboration with the University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Barcelona. The IJC has laboratories in 5 clinical campuses: i) Hospital Clínic, ii) Hospital de Sant Pau and iii) Hospital Germans Trias Pujol iv) Hospital del Mar and v) Hospital Josep Trueta Girona. IJC serves as a collaborative center for basic researchers and physicians to work together on fundamental clinical and biological aspects of leukemia. The IJC offers an excellent work environment based on a multidisciplinary fusion of state-of-the-art ideas and facilities.

**Research Description**

Due to unforeseen and unexpected tasks of the project 2021 PROD00020, the Josep Carreras Research Institute is looking for a** Research Technician** in the field of Epigenomics and Epitranscriptomics to join Dr. Esteller’s Cancer Epigenetics Group.

Manel Esteller is the Director of the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute and the principal investigator of the **Cancer Epigenetics Group**, which is involved in the analysis of the type and mechanisms of epigenetic alterations in cancer cells, including aberrant changes in DNA methylation and histone modifications in cancer, study of the epigenetics machinery and associated mutations, and finally, testing of epigenetic drugs.

This contract is part of the project 2021 PROD00020 funded by _Departament de Recerca i Universitats_ _de la Generalitat de Catalunya_.

**What we need**
- A person with a degree in biochemistry or similar.
- Master in biomedicine or similar will be a plus.
- A person eager to learn quickly and being able to work independently at some points.
- High level of collaborative and communicative skills and able to adapt to different lab environments.
- Good level of English.
- High level of motivation and interest.
- Highly developed organizational skills.
- Proactivity and team worker.
