Lead Game Artist

In July 2022, we launched our **Pocket Champs** game worldwide which quickly became one of the top-grossing games in its category. In our fast-paced, tech-driven environment, we continuously innovate by developing and updating our proprietary modules, along with integrating third-party ones, to enhance game functionalities, ensure precise analytics, and comply with evolving regulations.
This dynamic ecosystem requires meticulous coordination to keep our games at the forefront of technology and user experience.

Our **New Games** organization consists of small and agile teams made of 3 to 5 people, joining their forces, ideas, and knowledge to find the new next Hit mobile games of Madbox, from the prototype phase to the worldwide launch

This is where you come in, a skilled **Lead Game Artist** to join our New Games division in Barcelona and help us achieve our mission; To create unique games and memorable IPs.

***Y**our future responsibilities and scope**:

- Own the long-term artistic vision for the project, ensuring quality and consistency across both prototyping and content updates
- Create key art assets, benchmarks, and documentation to support your artistic vision
- Plan, prioritize, and manage the daily tasks of your team, ensuring that the objectives are met regarding quality, technical constraints, and deadlines
- Guide common agreement on art topics and foster innovative ideas from your team
- Guide pipeline conversations and being able to communicate clearly with other disciplines to ensure best results
- Plan mid to long-term needs of the team, and coordinate with AD
- Support the Studio Art Director with the performance and skill development on your team, identifying opportunities for improvement and setting them up for success.
- Be proactive in tackling art topics, motivating and inspiring your team
- Benchmark competitor's mobile games for learning and sharing purposes

**The profile we are looking for**:

- At least 5 years in mobile video game development, with 2 in a leadership position
- Expertise as a lead artist with at least one casual game launched, or varied portfolio of prototypes in mobile free-to-play games
- Demonstrated high quality of delivery in 2D and/or 3D. We will favor applicants who can do both
- Be able to lead by example, creating art that pushes the level of ambition for the game
- Versatile art knowledge, able to guide 3D, 2D, and UI artists to keep consistency and quality across the product
- Expertise in Photoshop, Blender/3dsMax/Maya and Figma
- Good knowledge of Unity - Good practices & Implementation
- Professional level in English language and outstanding communication skills, ensuring discussions are fluid and structured inside and outside of the team.
