Qualcomm Standards and Industry Organizations (QSIO) is looking for a talented technical standards engineer familiar with AI algorithms for machine learning. You will work on European and International technical standards committees focusing on Artificial Intelligence such as ETSI, CEN/CENELEC and ISO/IEC. THE TEAM YOU’LL BE PART OF Qualcomm Standards and Industry Organization (QSIO) is the heartbeat of Qualcomm Technologies operation in global standards and industry organizations. We support our technology teams in Qualcomm to create global standards. The QSIO AI/ML team supports Qualcomm AI/ML technical standards development in many new emerging standards, industry organizations and global policy bodies like the Society for Automotive Engineers (SAE), MLCommons, GSMA, IEEE, ISO/IEC, ETSI, CEN/CENELEC, FCC among others. We seek an AI standards engineer with excellent communication and consensus building skills. You will work with world-class engineers at Qualcomm Standards and Industry Organizations (QSIO) to develop technical standards at the European (CEN/CENELEC and ETSI) and International Level (ISO/IEC JTC1/SC42). You will collaborate with members of the other standards, product development and international policy teams and plan a comprehensive standards development approach. You will work with a small team of AI/ML standards engineers to implement the evaluation strategy, deciding key performance metrics (KPIs), and create international technical standards. You will be responsible for developing a deep understanding of the AI/ML algorithms developed in many standards committees as well as within Qualcomm. You will work in committee to develop consensus towards multiple international AI standards. Preferred locations for the positions are Europe or San Diego, CA, USA. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE - Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills - Strong understanding of Machine Learning fundamentals and Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) algorithms - Strong background in at least one of the following fields: Machine learning theory / optimization methods; Explainable AI, Model compression / quantization / optimization for embedded devices; Neural Architecture Search / kernel optimization; Computer vision; Audio and speech / NLP; Deep Generative Models (VAE, Normalizing-Flow, ARM, etc) - Knowledge of machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch is valuable. - Potential experience in international organizations and standardization - Ability to work independently EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS - MS or PhD in Computer Science/Engineering with 3+ years of professional experience or equivalent experience.-here for assistance.
