**Main responsibilities**:
- **
- ** IP Advice and Guidance**: Performs trademark searching and analysis and provides guidance to the business for availability and clearance of branding initiatives worldwide. Assist on other related IP matters such as copyright, domain names, and design rights.
- ** Trademark Maintenance**: Manages global trademark portfolio in accordance with the business strategy. Conduct regular trademark portfolio review with the business to contain costs.
- ** IP Database Maintenance**: Ensures the integrity and accuracy of trademark portfolio data in the IP docket system and of the files in the trademark portfolio. Maintains an accurate inventory of the existing trademark portfolio.
- ** Disputes**: Monitors the competitive trademark space and works with stakeholders to identify potential problematic 3rd party trademarks or domain names for potential oppositions, cancellation proceedings and litigation (e.g., web takedowns, C&D letters, handling civil court complaints).
- ** IP Transaction**: Provide trademark support for a variety of transactional activities as assigned, including reviewing TM licenses, TM co-existence agreements, etc.
- ** Training**: Provides training sessions and seminars on relevant IP topics and help to educate the marketing and innovation organizations on holistic trademark strategies and development in trademark laws and practice generally
**Education / Experience**:
- Law Degree and qualified lawyer in at least one European jurisdiction.
- +/- 4 years’ recent hands-on experience in an international law firm and/or as an in-house counsel in a multinational corporation with exposure to multi-jurisdiction trademark matters. Preferably also experience with handling related IP work (e.g., domain names, copyright, IP transactions, etc.) but not essential, depending on skills and expertise.
- Excellent command of the English language (spoken, written) is a must. Working knowledge of other European languages is desirable (in particular Spanish, Dutch, French and/or German).
- Experience gained by providing trademark support to commercial business activities in the field of Agribusiness and/or FMCG is advantageous but not essential.
