**Portfolio Manager (Spin-Off)**
**Innovation Unit
**VHIR offers a position as a Spin-off Portfolio Manager to join the Innovation team and give support in the incubation and

acceleration of VHIR’s company portfolio and help these companies grow and develop to their full potential. The

Innovation unit mission is to transform excellence in research and clinical care into new products, services and

processes that improve the patient experience and population health and reduce the cost per capita of providing

healthcare services.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Education and qualifications**:
**Required: -**

Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Business or Finance
- Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, English (business level)

**Desired: -**

M.Sc. in Technology / Knowledge Management, Innovation and/or MBA
- Ph.D. in Life Sciences

**Experience and knowledge: -**

3 years of experience managing innovation projects, analyzing companies in investing or consulting
environments.
- Knowledge in managing a portfolio of projects, creating companies and/or entrepreneurship.
- Experience in analyzing technologies, markets and new opportunities.

**Main responsibilities and duties: -**

Develop and execute strategies to maximize the growth and profitability of each spin-off company.
- Monitor and report on the performance of spin-off companies to institute leadership and stakeholders
- Lead technology transfer, and company creation activities.
- Give support to VHIR’s portfolio companies: fundraising, networking, and synergies inside Vall d’Hebron
Campus, among others.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential new opportunities for spin-off companies
- Provide leadership and guidance to spin-off company teams to ensure the effective execution of strategies and
goals.
- Give support to the rest of the Innovation team in any innovation-related activity.
- Collaborate with other units at VHIR to incubate and/or accelerate companies through public fundraising,
partner searching and relationship with hospitals and investors.

**Labour conditions: -**

Full-time position: 40h/week.
- Starting date: immediate.
- Gross annual salary: 30.000 - 42.000 euros (Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges
are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
